Natural Deodorant That Works Beautifully

I came across a post that had a very basic recipe for making your own deodorant. http://cadryskitchen.com/2012/08/29/diy-coconut-oil-deodorant/ my only addition would be essential oils for smell and anti-bacterial growth.

While I was at the Stone Store downtown Guelph yesterday, I was surprised to find this deodorant from Penny Lane Organics It actually had the exact ingredients from the recipe online, and had essential oil. Being a working full-time mom, anything to help in the don’t-have-to-make-it-by-myself regime is awesome.

I chose the Pink Grapefruit essential oil version. I absolutely love it.

It is a bit crumbly when you’re first putting it on but then it adjusts to your body temperature. I’ve been using it for a day and a half now and it feels great. I love the smell too!

Its is so wonderful to find some products that are natural and work!

***Update Summer 2014; I do find this deodorant really started to burn my skin under my armpits from the high salt, so what I did was melt it down into a pot, added jojobi oil, shea butter, beeswax and some coconut oil. This made it awesome, glides and doesn’t really burn me anymore***

Hi Amanda, thanks for the review and I’m glad to hear that you like our deodorant. If it feels dry and ‘crumbly’ you can simply run it under the tap for few seconds before applying it – it’s that simple 🙂
